Retired Colonel Rann Bahadur's Son Jeet's engagement had been fixed in his childhood with Pinky the elder daughter of his best friend Retired Colonel Jung Bahadur.
Jeet is sent to Bombay to see Pinky but instead meets her younger sister Kitty and falls in love with her. Pinky on the other hand is already in love with her college friend Amar.
The strict and adamant nature of Col. Jung Bahadur prevents his daughters from disclosing the truth and await the arrival of Col. Rann Bahadur to solve the problem.
Unfortunately on his arrival Kitty abuses Col. Rann Bahadur, mistaking him for a tramp Col. Rann Bahadur is enraged and tells his friend Col. Jung Bahadur that they should marry Jeet with Pinky immediately. Seeing them in such an angry mood and left with no alternate, the foursome decides to change places at the time of the marriage ceremony. Kitty is married to Jeet but according to the colonels Pinky is married to Jeet. Whenever they try to tell them the truth some obstacle comes in their way.
Meanwhile Kitty becomes pregnant and the Colonels who believe her to be unmarried, come to know about it. They want to know who the father of the unborn child is.
Jeet tells them that he is the father of the child and reveals that actually he had not married Pinky but Kitty. He asks them what right had they to arrange their marriage in childhood, without thinking whether they would like each other when they grew up. They had the right to live their own lives. The colonels realise their mistake they should not have been so strict with their children.
